Master of Business Administration (MBA)

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a graduate degree that provides theoretical and practical training for business or investment management. The MBA is designed to help graduates gain a better understanding of general business management functions and prepare individuals to become skilled organizational managers and professionals both able and willing to lead people in meeting the many challenges presented by competitive, complex environments. 

Concentration

Many MBA students choose a concentration for their degree. An MBA concentration adds additional classes to the core MBA curriculum which are tailored to the field of business the student has worked in already or intends to work in after completing their studies.

  • Business Administration (CIP Code: 52.0201) Whether you intend to climb the corporate ladder or strike out on your own, a general MBA provides business executives with a solid foundation from which to grow. MBA graduates emerge with proficiency in subjects ranging from accounting to finance, marketing to strategic management, and leadership. A master’s degree in business administration provides the holder with a comprehensive set of skills that are necessary for success in today’s competitive job market. The broad-based MBA prepares professionals for success in any job function, in any industry, and at any time in their career.
  • Hospitality, Travel, & Tourism (CIP Code 52.0901) The MBA with a concentration in Hospitality Travel Tourism program teaches the students with relevant management skills necessary for business administration management as well as advanced knowledge pertaining to the Travel & Tourism industry. The Travel & Tourism industry makes up about 10% of global GDP and people employed around the world. With the growth in the middle and upper-middle class in countries like China, India and many other countries, there are hundreds of millions of people who have stepped out of their cities or countries to experience many other cultures, countries, and places of history. Graduates of this specialization, work in hotels, hospitality and catering industry, international and national food chains, food-craft institutes.
  • Luxury Brand Management (CIP Code 52.1902) The MBA with a concentration in Luxury Brand Management enables you to develop and enhance the ability to successfully manage a luxury brand, product or services. Like many future students, you may be Wondering, what is an MBA in Luxury Management? Simply put, completion of this program awards you with a Masters in Business Administration degree that will provide you with opportunities for a career in the luxury sector. The courses cover a wide range of topics, including knowledge of luxury products, marketing trends and brand management. This degree will increase your knowledge of luxury brands and your own creativity as well.

Admissions

OCU requires an earned bachelor degree or the equivalent from a combination of educational and professional experiences.  Education must be completed from recognized institutions of higher education.

Transfer Credit

OCU will award a maximum of 75% of graduate semester units earned at another institution as transfer credit. Transfer credits must be from recognized institutions of higher education.
